Funeral Friday, September 30, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Timothy Lundeen officiating. Visitation on Thursday 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls.
Dina Marie O'Brien was born January 29, 1953 in Thief River Falls, MN daughter of Carl Melvin and LaVonne Ione (Wayne) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She attended school in Thief River Falls. Dina worked at a nursing home in Hallock.
Dina moved to Colorado and was united in marriage to Robert Minney in January of 1983. To this union Dora was born. She lived there until 1992 when Robert passed away. Dina moved to Middle River where she met the love of her life Ronald O'Brien and was united in marriage on February 14, 1997 at Grygla, MN. Dina worked in hospitality all of her life.
She enjoyed knitting, animals, computer (facebook) and was a huge Vikings fan, but most of all she loved the time spent with family and friends.
Dina is survived by her husband Ronald O'Brien of Grygla, MN and daughter Dora Yvonne Minney of Grand Forks, ND; siblings Ina Newton of Thief River Falls, MN, Jeff Johnson of Milaca, MN, Melvin Johnson of Greeley, CO, Dudley (Cheri) Johnson of Thief River Falls, MN and Julie (Jeff) Koshenina of Newfolden, MN; brothers-in-law Gerald O'Brien and Donald O'Brien of Grygla, MN; sister-in-law Sandra Stavenes of Thief River Falls, MN; mother-in-law Marlene O'Brien of Grygla, MN along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Dina is preceded in death by her parents Carl and LaVonne Johnson, brother Arthur, sister Rachel Acosta, grandparents and brother-in-law Rodney Stavenes.
