Actress. Best known for her role in "I Was a Male War Bride" (1949). Born in Los Angeles, California, she signed a film contract with 20th Century-Fox. Her first film appearances were in: "Gentleman's Agreement" (1947) and "Daisy Kenyon" (1947). She also famously starred in three Jerry Lewis-Dean Martin comedy films, "That's My Boy" (1951), "The Stooge" (1952) and "Sailor Beware" (1952). She was originally engaged to marry filmmaker Howard Hawks in 1950 (she met him on the set of War Bride) but the engagement was ended mutually by the couple. She married director-choreographer Stanley Donen in 1952 and they had 2 sons: Peter & Joshua Donen. They divorced in 1959. Marshall remarried four years later to actor Robert Wagner in 1963. They had one daughter: Katie before divorcing in 1971. Marshall retired from acting in 1975.
