In their early marriage, Anne and Jolly spent a year in Alaska, saving their wages to one day buy a farm. Then they spent time in Wichita, KS, where she worked for Zales Jewelry and finally back to TRF in 1954 to buy their farm. They spent the rest of their married life on their farm near Rosewood, MN. Jolly worked as a mechanic and Anne worked part time for Elofsen's Jewelry. Together they raised sheep and turkeys for many years until they had an opportunity to open The Aaseby Garage on Main Ave in TRF. Anne did the books for the garage and managed a U-Haul business until Jolly's death in 1995, after which she spent her widowed years near her 5 children, living for a time in Moorhead, MN, Post Falls, ID and most currently in Lakeville, MN.
In her earlier years, Anne was involved in 4-H with her children where she focused on baking and sewing. Later in life she was a member of Women's Aglow and deeply interested in bible studies. She loved to write letters, journal her thoughts and spiritual discoveries, and was by nature artistic as well as intelligent, well-read, and a wonderful listener. Through her deep curiosity and devotion to bible study she became the foundation of faith for her entire family.
Anne died on May 26, 2022 at Highview Hills Nursing Home in Lakeville, MN at the age of 99, surrounded by her children and the prayers of her entire family. She was buried the following day next to her husband, the love of her life, in Greenwood Cemetery.
Anne was preceded in death by both parents, her husband of 55 years, a sister and two brothers, Lea Wickham, Vern Nesland and Eugene Nesland and a grandson, David Gutterud. She is survived by her step-sister, Karen Sue Poe, her 5 children, their spouses, 16 grandchildren, 37 great—grandchildren and numerous great- great-grandchildren, as well as step/bonus children and grandchildren.
