Debra Ann Born, 65, of South Whitley, died peacefully at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, October 22, 2022, at her home. She had been battling cancer.

Born on October 16, 1957, in Huntington, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Blanche (Bailey) Guerin. Growing up in South Whitley, she graduated from Whitko High School in 1975.

On March 20, 1997, she married Henry Ernest Born. The couple has always made their home in South Whitley.

For over 20 years, Debra worked for Fiber Form, Columbia City, in the quality department. Since 2011, she has worked for the Uptown Marathon, South Whitley.

A talented artist, she liked to draw, paint, and make a wide variety of crafts. Through the years, she made Christmas ornaments and enjoyed painting. She gave every nook and cranny of her home the artist's touch. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. When the grandkids came along, they became her pride and focus, spending as much time with them as possible.

Surviving is her loving husband, Henry; children, Jason J. (Norma) Kethcart of Huntington, Nevada S. Elliot of Kendallville, Landon O. (Kelsie) Ternet of Westfield; stepchildren, Henry R. Born of Fort Wayne, Joshua D. (Jennifer) Born of Columbia City and Shawn D. Born of Columbia City; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Keith (Mary) Guerin of Macy; and sisters, Sheila Shepherd, Teresa (Jim) Galloway of Kentucky and Phyllis Vigar of Roann.
