Lois received her RN diploma from Blodgett Memorial Medical Center, her Bachelor's of Nursing from Nazareth College in Kalamazoo, her Master's of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati, and her PhD in development psychology from Wayne State University. She also received a Bachelor's of Religious Education from GR Baptist College (Cornerstone). She worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner and was a senior professor of nursing at Cedarville University for 30 years, as well as taking nursing students to Togo, West Africa in the summers for 20 years working at Hospital Baptiste Biblique. She received the distinguished alumnae award from GR Baptist College (Cornerstone) and Faculty Award from Cedarville University.
Her goal was to educate students to use nursing as a ministry for Christ. She lived her life keeping her eyes on Jesus despite her medical issues. Lois was a faithful prayer warrior to so many and people really counted on this.
Visitation will be Monday, November 14, 2022 at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N. Monroe St. in Rockford, MI from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A memorial service honoring her faith in the Lord, love for her family, and her life, will be Tuesday November 15 at 1:00 pm at Rockford Baptist Church, 221 Courtland St with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedarville University School of Nursing through Pederson Funeral Home 127 N Monroe St. Rockford, Michigan 49341.
