Actor. Best known for his supporting role as the chauffeur in the 1973 Rip Torn film, "Payday," he began his acting career at the urging of veteran actor, Keenan Wynn, when he enrolled as a stage actor at California's Pasadena Playhouse. Working mainly as a summer stock theatre cast member, he performed as a member of the American Repertory Players, touring over twenty-three states. He transitioned from the stage to the small screen in 1969 when he began accepting small roles on American sitcoms such as, "The Odd Couple," "Trapper John, M.D.," "Murder, She Wrote," "Happy Days," "Columbo," "Fantasy Island," "The Incredible Hulk," "Starsky and Hutch," and "Charlie's Angels." He later guest starred on a beloved episode of the Michael Landon helmed series, "Little House on the Prairie" before playing supporting parts in various big screen films. A number of film roles included: The Western Union security guard in the Clint Eastwood drama "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot," the ill fated hospital security guard, Mr. Garrett in John Carpenter's, "Halloween II," the Mayor in 1997's slapstick comedy, "Mouse Hunt," and the bus driver in 1999's movie adaptation of the animated series "Inspector Gadget." During his lengthy career, he was featured in over ninety films and television programs.
