Glenn Roy Heiskill, age 71, passed away at the Norman Regional Hospital on Saturday February 15, 2003. Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday February 19, 2003 at the South Gate Baptist Church in Moore.

Interment will follow at the Oak Dale Cemetery in Paden, Oklahoma under the direction of Mayes Funeral Directors. Visitation will be from 1:00pm until 8:00pm on Monday and from 9:00am until 8:00pm on Tuesday.

He was born August 29, 1931 in Paden, Oklahoma to John Mason (Bud) and Lola Cordellia (Little) Heiskill. He was united in marriage to Barbara Sue Smith June 9, 1956. He had lived in Moore, Oklahoma for the past 32 years. He had worked as a distribution supervisor for the Safeway/Homeland Warehouse for 34 years prior to his retirement in 1994. He was a man who lived to make people laugh. He loved history and could not drive past a historical marker without stopping to investigate. He enjoyed boating and working with wood, always picking up any piece of wood that interested him.

He was an outdoorsman, a big OU football fan, considering himself as a couch quarterback, and had a special relationship with his two dogs, Fred and J.D.. He also served with the Oklahoma National Guard. He entertained his family and friends singing and picking on his guitar.

He is survived by, the mother of his children, Barbara Sue Manire of Okemah, Oklahoma; by three children; Glenna Sue Burrell and her husband, Sam of Guthrie, Oklahoma; Terry Wayne Heiskill of Moore, Oklahoma and Sherri Ann Weeks and her husband Dennis of Okemah, Oklahoma. By two grandchildren, Tamara Lynn Burrell and Denny Lee Weeks. Also by three sisters; Penny Davidson and her husband, Jerry of Navarre, Florida; Carolyn Cochenour and her husband Ray of Norman; and Jeannie Morrison and her husband, Bobby of Norman; By a special niece, Sandy Wilson and her husband Kelly of Norman and an aunt, Viola Hain of Ponca City. He was also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, James, Clinton and Robert and by three sisters, Delinda, Cleta Woodrow and Jo Whitford.
