Nancy Lorraine Weaver, 92, of Bucyrus passed peacefully on Monday March 6, 2023 at Orchard Park.

Nancy was born on August 10, 1930 in Canfield, Ohio to parents Jacob W. and Mary (Bare) Ziegler and graduated from North Lima High School. She married Doyle Dean Weaver in July of 1954 and they lived together in Bucyrus, OH where Nancy cared for her family as a homemaker. She also worked at the Clover Farm for a short period of time in Bucyrus. Nancy then worked as a customer service representative for United Telephone Co. for over 20 years. In retirement, she worked many Saturday mornings at Stouts Laundromat taking care of the facility's needs and enjoyed talking with and helping customers.

Nancy was a kind soul who always made others feel welcome. Her life revolved around caring for and being with her family. She enjoyed hosting many gatherings in her home over the years. Nancy and Doyle shared many camping trips with their children and enjoyed traveling together for many years before his unexpected death in 1988. After this unexpected loss, Nancy inspired many with her strength and perseverance as a hard-working woman. She independently took care of her indoor and outdoor responsibilities at home. She spent multiple days each week at the YMCA where she participated with fellow friends in water aerobics, spin class, and low impact aerobics classes. After many of her mornings in the pool, she enjoyed some relaxing food with friends at Granny's Kitchen in Galion. Friday nights were always reserved for dinners with her close friends. For many years, Nancy also enjoyed worshipping at Christ United Methodist Church in Galion.

In her early years, Nancy really enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and canning much of what she grew. She loved tending to her flowers around her home and also enjoyed birdwatching. She shared years of companionship with Lady, her favorite Yorkie. For relaxation, she enjoyed reading many books, putting puzzles together, and was always up for a cup of coffee.

Nancy is survived by her three children; Lori Holliday, Jim (Shelly) Weaver, and Curtiss Weaver, 5 grandchildren; Ben Holliday, Becky (Vahan) Melkonyan, Erin (Dan) Alspach, Jennifer (Cody) Gledhill and Kelsie Weaver, five great grandchildren; Dillon Sniffen, Cooper Gledhill, Jayce Gledhill, Colt Benson, Quinn Gledhill, and one more on the way. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Jane (Joe) Martin and Nancy Reichenbach.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her close friend John Brown, three grandchildren; Brian Holliday, April Weaver, and Michael Weaver, and two siblings, Anna Mae Krabill and Wilber Ziegler.

Memorial calling hours will be held for Nancy on Monday, March 13 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Wise Funeral Service; 129 W. Warren Street, Bucyrus. She will be privately interred next to her husband Doyle at Walnut Creek Cemetery in Walnut Creek, Ohio.

If desired, donations can be made payable to either Christ UMC or to the Humane Society Serving Crawford County. These gifts will be accepted through the funeral home and expressions of sympathy are encouraged to be shared on her tribute wall.
