Janis worked in nursing in her earlier years but was able to be a stay at home mother and homemaker for much of their early family life. Later, she worked at Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh where she made many friends. Janis was a talented artist, she painted many birds, still lifes and Christmas Santas, as well as holiday scenes on Christmas ornaments, which she greatly enjoyed.
Janis was someone best described as a woman of faith, family, dignity, and grace. Her strong faith in God was unwavering and ever-present in her heart and mind and evident in everything she said or did.
Left to mourn her passing but celebrate her life are her husband of 54 years, Robert; sons: Neal (Sandy), Mark, Robert II (Kristina); grandchildren: Hannah, Allison, Jake, and Ryan; great grandchildren: Lyle and Lennon; as well as her sister, Joanna (Jim) Miller, nephew Rob, and nieces Melissa and Patty.
As per the family's wishes, no formal public service will be held. A small family ceremony will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
