On January 24, 1954, Alberta married Harry Loyd "Lee" Hamilton in Las Vegas, Nevada. Throughout their marriage, Alberta and Lee lived in several states, including California, Texas, Florida, Utah, and Ohio due to Harry's work as a truck driver and then as foreman for an oil company. Alberta and Harry had three children together before their divorce in 1975.
Following their divorce, Alberta and her children remained in California, where she was employed as a grocery checker for Lucky's and then Albertson's grocery stores. She retired after 27 years. Prior to her retirement, she was an active member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Throughout her life she enjoyed cooking, reading, gameshows, and western movies. She was a resident of Fullerton, California since 1987.
Alberta passed away on March 6, 2023 at the age of 86 from cardiac arrest after a long illness. She was cremated and her cremains are kept by her family with those of her mother. She was proceeded in death by her parents and her sister, Julia Earl Sowers. She was survived by her daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Bill Kernan, her sons Jeff and Mark Hamilton, her three grandchildren Laura, Gerad, and William Kernan, her brother and sister-in-law Paul and Linda Sebok, her nieces and their husbands Pamela and Mel Venglar and Debra and John Holiday, and numerous cousins.
Alberta was a strong, independent woman who loved life and her family, who loved her very much and miss her deeply.
