Charles Dean McCarty, age 82, of Hager Hill died Monday April 10, 2023 at his residence. He was born on October 28, 1940 in Wheelwright to the late Manford and Joy Williams McCarty. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by four brothers: Crate (Louise) McCarty, Manford (Joan) McCarty, Jimmy Ray (Linda) McCarty, Jeff (Linda) McCarty; four sisters: Joyce Ann (Ellis) Craft, Judy (Phillip) Fairchild, Rosie (Fred) Grubb, Betty Gay McCarty. On May 23, 1961 in Hager Hill he married Anna Deloris Rivers McCarty who survives. Additional survivors include one son: Charles Gregory (Yvonne) McCarty; two daughters: Dedra Dyan Hill, Sandra Dee (Jason Vanhoose) Baldwin; two brothers: James Darrell McCarty, Elvis Parson; one sister: Maddie Parson; four grandchildren: Amanda (Joe) Adkins, Anthony (Amanda) McCarty, Adriana (Joe Jackson) Kretzer, Brandon (Jamie Sexton) Baldwin; seven great grandchildren: Layne McCarty, Easton McCarty, Hunter Fugitt, Coleton Adkins, Grayson Adkins, Justin Baldwin, Angelina Baldwin. Charles was a retired bus driver for the Johnson County School system. He was a devoted Christian and served at Collista Free Will Baptist Church as a deacon for over 25 years. He was a loving husband, dad, father in law, and papaw. Visitation is scheduled at the Collista Free Will Baptist Church from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. Tuesday, from 12 noon until 9 P.M. Wednesday, and from 11 A.M. until time of services Thursday. Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Thursday April 13, 2023 at the Collista Free Will Baptist Church with Jim McKenzie and Toby Johnson officiating. Interment to follow at the McCarty Family Cemetery in Hager Hill.
