Max Irvin Tedford, 92, of Goodland went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on November 16, 2017. He passed away at Goodland Regional Medical Center. He was born December 15, 1924, to Walter and Lelia Tedford on the family farm in Minneola, Kansas. Max attended first grade in a country school in Clark County and then went on to Minneola public school graduating in 1943. He entered the Navy in 1944 and spent 22 months in the South Pacific aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Thetis Bay CVE-90 during WWII. After the war he attended Sterling College in Sterling, Kansas. In the summer of 1949 he started farming with his father in Clark County, Kansas and Kit Carson County, Colorado. On August 27, 1954 he married Bernice Unruh in Perryton, Texas. Max and Bernice moved to Vona, Colorado after their wedding to farm in Colorado. They moved to Goodland in 1965 where he continued his love of farming.

Max attended the Goodland Bible Church, serving as an elder and deacon in his earlier years. He enjoyed farming, spending time with his family, church activities, reading his Bible and sports. He was an encouragement to all who knew him and a valiant prayer warrior.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Lewis and Lawrence Tedford.
