Mary Dell Allen, 91, of Macon, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park with the Reverend Lawrence Robinson officiating. The family will greet friends Friday, May 5, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street.

Born in Cordele, Georgia to the late George Lamar and Leila Wilson Sanders, Mrs. Allen was a long-time member of Cherokee Heights United Methodist Church. She used to entertain groups at local nursing homes. She always made friends wherever she moved to, and she wrote mini biographies about her friends. She also wrote books of poetry.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her son, Dow Allen (Donna) of Macon; granddaughters, Grace Greiner (Shawn) and Ruby Allen (Joseph Ronca) both of Macon; and a great grandchild on the way.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis D. Allen, son, William "Sandy" Allen, siblings, Bill Sanders, Annie Eugenia Sanders and Peggy S. Rooks.
