Roger Dale Adkins, age 76, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the U.K. Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. Roger was born on Dec. 2, 1946 to his parents the late Morgan Adkins and Otta Coleman Adkins. Roger was a retired mechanic for American Electric Power/Kentucky Power Company, and also a member of the Unity Freewill Baptist Church at Rockhouse. He was married to Debra Jean Bartley Adkins.

Along with his wife, Debra, Roger is survived by three daughters, Melisa Kay Hackney, Melinda (Craig) Damron, Caressa (Matthew) Dawahare, two sons, Jeremy Roger Adkins, Jonathan Roger Adkins, four sisters, Kathleen Owens, Joyce Tackett, Judy Potter, Janet Adkins, six grandchildren, Tristan & Ashton Dawahare, Emmalie Dawahare, Elijah Adkins, Jonah Adkins, Zoe Hackney, one great grandchild, Mahayleigh, and a host of loving family and friends who will miss him dearly.

Visitation will be Tuesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Tuesday and Wednesday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 1p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Mike Coleman and Unity Freewill Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
