Wesley died December 15th at his daughter's home in Newell, Iowa following a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born on November 2, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Levi Jasper and Eiffie Mae Gardiner Towne. On August 26, 1950 he married MaryLou Virginia Auen. Together they raised four children. Wesley retired in 1989 from Interbake Foods (Johnson Biscuit Company) and the very next week the couple moved to Branson, Missouri to enjoy retirement. Wesley's first love was Jesus and a close 2nd was his love for singing and playing his Martin guitar. He was still playing weekly with the worship team even at age 85. He was a member of the First Assembly Of God Church in Branson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Survivors include children, Donald and (Trish) Towne of Scottsburg, Indiana, Rolland and (Kim) Towne of Kearney, Nebraska, Virginia & (Tim) Ried of Newell, Iowa and Robert and (Mary) Towne of Branson, Mo., 16 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in his memory are suggested to the First Assembly of God Church Building Fund and may be left or mailed to Greenlawn Funeral Home, 708 State Highway 248, Branson, Mo. 65616.
