Carol, age 80, passed away at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was the daughter of Edward Patrick and Nona (Smith) Rafferty. She graduated from Rossville (KS) High School in 1960. She married Robert Flerlage on July 23, 1960. She married Howard Heim on August 2, 1991. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, her brothers, Robert Rafferty, W. Keith Rafferty, and Richard Rafferty, and her granddaughter, Kristin Morford. She is survived by her children, Jeanette Grauerholz, Kenneth Flerlage, Loretta VandeVelde, Nancy Morford, Thomas Flerlage, and Douglas Flerlage, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and her brother, Raymond Rafferty. Memorial visitation will be on July 10, 2023, at Piper Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys.
