Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Snell, who died Wednesday noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. O. Cummings, at St. Louis Missouri, after a illness of twelve days of pneumonia, were held at the Presbyterian Church at one O' clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. J. G. Reynolds, officiating.
Mrs. Snell's maiden name was Nancy Jane Root, a daughter of Commodore Chauncey and Cynthia Root, she was born at Vernon, Indiana, April 23, 1853. With her parents she came to Montgomery County Illinois and settled at Walshville, where she was married to Arthur M. Kennedy. Her second marriage was on July 18, 1883, to Robert J. Snell and they came to Greenville to live at that time. Mrs. Snell is survived by her husband, three sons, Joseph Kennedy of Edwardsville, George Snell of St. Louis and Irl Snell, of this city and two daughters, Mrs. W. O. Cummings of St. Louis and Mrs. Charles Neifahrt of this city. She is also survived by three brothers, David H. Root of Boise city Idaho, Joseph L. Root of Walshville, and George G. Root of Hillsboro and one sister Mrs. Cynthia A. Price of Nebraska. Five brothers and sisters preceded her in death, Interment at Montrose Cemetery.

Robert J. Snell, aged 76 years, familiarly known as "Truss" Snell, passed away February 3, 1930, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Neifahrt, at 109 South Sixth Street, following an illness of Bronchial pneumonia. Robert Justin Snell was born February 19, 1853, near Staunton, and was aged 76 years, 11 months, and 26 days at the time of his death.
Many years ago he married Mrs. Nancy Kennedy, who died October 17, 1923. Following their marriage they moved to a farm North of Greenville, until about thirty years ago, when the family moved to this city where they have since resided. Mr. Snell is survived by three children, Mrs. Bessie Alma Neifahrt with whom he made his home following the death of Mrs. Snell, and two sons George Robert Snell and Irl Hicks Snell of St. Louis. One step-daughter, Mrs. Alice Cummings, of St. Joseph Missouri, and one step son, Joseph Arthur Kennedy of Edwardsville Illinois also survive. Funeral service was at the Christian Church in Greenville, Rev. R. T. Hickerson officiating, and burial was in Montrose Cemetery.
