Funeral services for Archie Demar Nelson will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at noon in the Freedom LDS Church.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2005 from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral services.
Archie Demar Nelson passed away on June 4, 2005. He was born May 16, 1927 in Freedom to John Thomas and Ivy Imogene Ashment.
Archie had three sisters, Hazel, Ada and Margie. He also had two brothers who died before he was born. A third brother died at birth when Archie was eight.
Archie's father was killed in a car accident when Archie was nine years old. He helped his mother farm the 60 acres and milk cows.
He married Corine Putnam on Oct 20, 1952
When his sister, Hazel and her husband Dorald Baxter, died in Nov 1958, their children Sheldon and Radele came to live with Archie and Corine. Radele stayed two years. Sheldon stayed until he completed high school.
Archie is survived by his wife Corine; children, John (Sandra) Cordon; Mike (Connie) Nelson; Ann Barrett (Gregory); Chris Austin; Sheldon (Bev); 27 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.
