Nancy Lee Aanonsen, 84, of Hermantown, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023. She was born March 3, 1939 in Weyerhauser, WI to Edith and Carl Edwardson.

In 1942, her family moved to North Branch, MN, where she graduated from high school in 1957. After graduation, Nancy worked as a telephone operator for North Western Bell. It was through work that she met Roger Aanonsen, whom she married on August 31, 1963 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale, in Nashua, Iowa.

Nancy and Roger moved to Hermantown in 1969 where they raised three boys. After all the boys were in school, Nancy went to work for Airport State Bank and retired as head teller. Nancy enjoyed sewing, cooking, and keeping a comfortable home for her family. A longtime member of Grace Lutheran Church, she was a member of the Monday morning quilters group. She served alongside her husband at the Domiano food shelf for many years. Nancy will be remembered as a kind, loving, selfless wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend, who had a charming sense of humor and a warm smile for everyone.
