Mary Elaine Abbott, age 79, of London, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

She leaves behind three children, Denise Abbott Kirby, David Abbott Jr. & wife Selena, Mark Abbott & wife Amy; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Nicole Elligson, Jacob Michael Kirby, Aaron Christopher Kirby, Emily Sierra Abbott, Brandon Blaise Abbott, Alexandra Elaine Abbott, Luke Christopher Abbott; two great grandchildren, Blaze Dean Abbott, Walker Robert Grant Owens; and also Will Damron, Lindsey Harrell, Anthony Rudd, Ariel Adams, Allison Rudd and Shawn Carroll that Mary and her husband lovingly called their grandchildren; three siblings, Margaret Settle & husband Carl, Jim Kennedy & wife Jeni, Gene Kennedy; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, David Wayne Abbott Sr; her parents, Joe Jake Kennedy & Ida Anna Meyer Kennedy; and by seven siblings, Billy Kennedy, Bob Kennedy, John Kennedy, Sally Kennedy Prewitt, Helen Kennedy Whitaker, Tom Kennedy, Carl Kennedy.

Mary adored her late husband, David. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, her family, and her friends. She loved babies, her Hazel Green Bullfrogs, shopping, cleaning, and for a time enjoyed bowling, and baking and decorating cakes. She truly had a servant's heart, and she enjoyed volunteering at her church, Liberty Baptist, where she taught Sunday School to the children for many years. Mary left a legacy of love for all those who knew her. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral services for Mary Elaine Abbott will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in London, Kentucky with Larry O'Bryan and James Vandy officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery. The pallbearers will be David Abbott, Mark Abbott, Jacob Kirby, Brandon Abbott, Luke Abbott & Bill Prewitt. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour also at the church. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
