Charles M. Eldridge, 87, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 5:40 P.M. at Fountains Nursing Care Center.
Charles was born December 29, 1920 the son of Charles R. & Cora (Stearns) Eldridge in Herrin. He married Violet Hellberg on May 4, 1943 in Vermont, Illinois and they have been blessed with 65 years of marriage.
Charles retired from the State of Illinois Highway Department. He was a member of Spillertown Baptist Church, teaching Sunday School for many years, a member of CCC. He enjoyed reading and raising show chickens.
He is survived by:

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin McNeely and Rev. Kenny Blumenstock officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery with Rev. Cecil Parrish officiating.
