Arthur Jones Sharpe was the fifth child and second son of nine children born to Lt. Col. William Henry Sharpe (1821-1873) and Ann Hawley Henderson (1828-1907). He married Henrietta Frances Ponton (1850-1937) of Belleville, Ontario, on October 25, 1877. The couple had two daughters: Henrietta Hermine Sharpe (m-James Clute Younglove) and Ida Geraldine Sharpe (m-Frederick Simpson). Arthur lived at times in Belleville and Toronto, Ontario, and worked in Chicago, Illinois, until he died in 1906. Illinois government records show he was buried at Rosehill.
