5 year old daughter of Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman and his wife Mary Beth Chapman was killed when she was accidently struck by an SUV driven by her teenage brother at their home in Franklin, TN. She was life flighted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she later died of her injuries.
Maria was born in Tianjin, China, and lovingly adopted on July 14, 2004. She recently graduated from Harpeth Hills Pre-School. She attended Christ Community Church in Franklin, TN.
Survived by parents, Steven Curtis and Mary Beth Chapman; brothers, Caleb Stevenson Chapman & Will Franklin Chapman; sisters, Emily Elizabeth Chapman, Shaohannah Hope Yan Chapman & Stevey Joy Ru Chapman, all of Franklin, TN; grandparents, Herbert Sheldon Chapman and Judith Carol Chapman, both of Paducah, KY, James Richard & Phyllis Ann Chapman of Springfield, OH; great grandmother, Dorothy Williams Chapman, Paducah, KY; several aunts, uncles, cousins & other loving family members.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Christ Presbyterian Church, 2323 Old Hickory Blvd., Nashville, TN 37215. Pastor Scotty Smith & friends officiating. Interment Williamson Memorial Gardens. Family & friends will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Harpeth Hills Pre-School Class.. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, at Christ Presbyterian Church. WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME.
