A lifetime Episcopalian, Mr. Wheaton was always active in the church community serving in church leadership, singing in choir since age 9, and leading youth groups and Sunday school classes. Most recently Mr. Wheaton was a member of St. Paul's in Wickford, RI.

Mr. Wheaton will be remembered by many for his tireless efforts to re-kindle an awareness of the rich past of the City of Pawtucket. Most notably, Mr. Wheaton worked as co-director of the Spaulding House Research Library and Spaulding House Publications, and for eleven years co-authored a column for The Times entitled Our Times and Before. Mr. Wheaton also co-authored two pictorial histories of Pawtucket and several other publications focused on the city's history, and helped to establish river tours along the Pawtucket River. Mr. Wheaton was also proud of the scholarship endowment he and Pawtucket's East Senior High School, Class of 1948 established for future generations.

We'll miss you, but also know that you are sharing in God's promise of eternal life and we make our peace in knowing that we may also share in that same promise.
