Thomas (Todd) Sharp Jr., 23, 1612 Upton Court, Marion, died Tuesday in Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, after being found Monday in his home.
Mr. Sharp died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Grant County Coroner David Devine said. He was taken to Marion General Hospital and later transferred to the Fort Wayne hospital.
Mr. Sharp was born in Maxwell Field, Ala., but spent most of his life in Marion. He served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Sharp, with whom he lived; a brother, William G. Sharp, Marion; and three sisters, Mrs. Vickey Cook, Marion, Mrs. Evelyn Russell, Conyers, Ga., and Mrs. Martha Brooks, Dayton, Tenn.
The funeral was held Friday in the Needham and Son Funeral Home, 814 S. Adams St., Marion, with Rev. A.W. Thomason officiating.
