OBITUARY

Funeral services for Bert Antony ADAMS will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, in the Hixson Funeral Home chapel in Leesville with the Rev. Wallace Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Leesville Cemetery. Mr. ADAMS died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003. Bert Antony ADAMS, born October 23, 1916, in DeRidder, La. He served his country in World War II where he received the Bronze Star for bravery, five major Battle Stars and a Battlefield Commission. He also served in the Korean War and received an award for Outstanding Service. In addition, he served as Company Commander in the Louisiana National Guard and was discharged as Captain. He was preceded in death by his son, Bert William "Skipper" ADAMS, and his wife, Bernice Parker ADAMS of 61 years. He is survived by his daughters, Lynn Dell PYNES of Leesville, and Gayle SHAW of Jacksonville, Texas, sons-in-law, Ray PYNES and Charles SHAW. He has four grandchildren, Ray PYNES II, Lacy PYNES, Karen JACKSON and Shannon HUNT.
