Born June 3, 1917 in Sullivan County, he was the son of Willis E. and Jeanette (Payne) Harrison.
He was a coal miner and a self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of God, the Hymera Masonic Lodge, and the Terre Haute VFW.
Surviving relatives include: one son, Bill Harrison and wife Ann of Holly Pond, Alabama; one daughter, Ann Puller of Zephyrhills, Florida; six grandchildren, Shawn Anderson of Roanoke, Virginia, Ronnie Anderson of Luttrell, Tennessee, Ashley Puller of Zephyrhills, Florida, Mike Harrison of Addison, Alabama, Kristy Harrison of Suffolk, Virginia, and Ian Goebel of Harvest, Alabama; three great-grandchildren, Rex and Ty Harrison of Addison, Alabama and Scarlet Anderson of Luttrell, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Harrison on August 31, 2008 with whom he would have celebrated 59 years of marriage October 7, 2008, his parents, two sisters, Letha Thompson and Pauline Goodman, and one brother, Noel Max Harrison.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Lyons with Brother Orell Overman officiating. Interment will be in Lebanon Cemetery in Midland. Military services will be conducted by American Legion Post 196 Bloomfield.
The Hymera Masonic Lodge will conduct services 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
