OBIT: Lindon "Bud" Rock, 78, died on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003 at 3:35 p.m. at his home in Francisco. He was born on May 16, 1925 in Glezen. He retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Peabody Coal Co., Squaw Creek Mine and has resided in Francisco for over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army Rangers during W.W. II. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local #1189 and VFW Post 1147. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Fern (Willis) Rock; two children, Lynette and Mary Alice; and one brother and four sisters. Mr. Rock is survived by his wife of 53 years, Georgia Rock of Francisco; son and daughter-in-law, August and Janet Rock of Palm Bay, Fla.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dena "Ms. D" and Gary Maier of Princeton and Lia and Sheldon Lantz of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Nickolas, Janae, Scott and Kendle Rock, T.J. and Katie Maier and Samantha and Suzanna Williams; great-grandchildren, Treven and Kya Maier; brother, Earl Rock of Owensboro, Ken.; five sisters, Flo Rice of Georgetown, Ind., Stonie Meddles of New Albany, Rocky Sanders of Florida, Jackie Feilden of Florida and Jerry Brown of Centertown, Ken. Services will be on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003 at 1 p.m. at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Fr. Bernie Etienne and Rev. Steve Dame will officiate. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Francisco. Visitation will be at the Colvin Funeral Home from 4 until 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, 2003. VFW Post 1147 will conduct military services at the cemetery.
