Kale, C. Stuart

April 26, 1939 - Nov. 16, 2008

He was born April 26, 1939, in Bellingham, Wash., to Elvin and Dorothy Elder Kale. He was baptized and confirmed at the Everson Presbyterian Church, Everson, Wash. Stuart earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Everson Troop 4027. He graduated from Nooksack Valley High School in 1957 and in 1961 completed his undergraduate studies in business administration at the University of Washington with an MBA following in 1965. He became a member of Theta Delta Chi at the university.
Stuart married Barbara Lewis on June 17, 1961, and was later divorced. He began working at The Boeing Co. following college. This began a successful career in the aerospace industry. He joined the Western Gear Company in 1968 at Everett, and moved to Jamestown, N.D., in 1972 to lead the development of a successful aerospace manufacturing business. Stuart was proud of his accomplishments at the Western Gear, where he became a leader of business and industry in Jamestown and the state of North Dakota. In addition to his contributions to the aerospace industry, Stuart served on the boards of the N.D. State Economic Commission, Jamestown Hospital, and Norwest Bank and was an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Jamestown.
In 1985, Stuart joined Pratt and Whitney and relocated to Huntsville to serve as the general manager of their aerospace manufacturing business. Stuart married Roberta Zierke Christensen on Oct. 17, 1987, in Huntsville. In 1989, they moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where Stuart became vice president and general manager of Flameco Barnes. He retired in 1995. While in Utah, he served as an elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City and numerous other church affiliated duties. The Kales moved to Mesquite in 2006 and found their ideal retirement home on the golf course.
Retirement was a good time in Stuart's life. He reacquainted with his cousins, high school classmates, and old friends. He enjoyed golfing, traveling with Bobbie and family members, and managing the distribution of information to his extensive e-mail distribution network.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie; three sons, Mark and wife Maya, Richard, and James and wife Lori; daughter, Robin; and grandchildren, Nicole Kale, Matthew Kale, Amber Kale, Ava Kale, and Max Fadeyev; aunt, Bernice Reeves; in-laws, Robert and Betty Zierke and Frances Shearin, Nicole and Matthew's mother Judy Kramer; brothers-in-law, Bennett and wife Wendy and Bruce and wife Mary Pat Zierke; 12 nieces and nephews; and many cousins and friends.
