EARL GEORGE DORFNER, 91, died at Evergreen Terrace Convalescent Center, Mount Vernon, December 26, 1985.
He was born Dec. 7, 1894 in Seattle. He married Margaret Robertson, who preceded him in death in 1947. He married Winnifred Lockhart June 6, 1949. She preceded him in death in 1981.
He was an alumnus of the University of Michigan law school, University of Iowa and University of Washington. He was a member of the Washington State Bar Association, a past Second District Commander of the American Legion of Washington, Past Chef De Gare of 40 et Voiture No. 114
Du Washington, twice past governor of the Moose, a life member of the Elks, and a member of the Episcopal Church. He started Mount Vernon Abstract and Title and was a legal officer of Land Title in Spokane, WA.
He was a member of the University of Michigan 19th U.S.Ambulance Service attached to the French Army Section 591. He was awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French government for bravery under fire in retrieving wounded from the battlefield.
Interment was in Mount Vernon IOOF Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to a favorite charity.
