PHILIP GRANDIN DIES.

Foster Resident Was Member of Prominent Cincinnati Family.

Philip Grandin, a member of the Cincinnati family for which Grandin road was named and an early resident of the city, died yesterday morning at the home of his son, Murray Grandin, near Foster, Warren County, Ohio, after a two months' illness according to word received by relatives.

Mr. Grandin was born in the family homestead on Grandin Road, and shortly afterward moved to the Grandin farm near Foster. He was at one-time Mayor of the Village of Maineville.

He is survived by his widow, six sons and five daughters. Funeral services will be held at the home Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Burial will be at Lebanon, Ohio.

Philip Grandin, son of the late John Piatt and Mary Reading Grandin, was born on the 27th day of January, 1853, in the Grandin homestead on Grandin Road, Cincinnati, Ohio and departed this life September 30th, 1927, at the age of 74 years.

At an early age he removed to the Grandin Farm, Hopkinsville, Ohio and he spent his entire life in this vicinity.

In 1876 he was united in marriage to Inez F. Murray. To this union twelve children were born, eleven of whom survive. They are as follows: Mary R. Spaulding, Los Angeles, California, Philip Earl Grandin, Chattanooga, Tenn., John Piatt Grandin, Buffalo, Wyoming, Murray Grandin, Foster, Ohio, Robert Alexander Grandin, deceased, Ralph Peters Grandin, Dayton, Ohio, Mabel Alice Acheson, Chattanooga, Tenn., William Goodman Grandin, Cincinnati, Ohio, Chase Payne Grandin, Columbus, Ga., Josiah Woodward Grandin, Chattanooga, Tenn., Laura Elizabeth Ingalls, Los Angeles, Calif., Florence Elenor Grandin, Los Angeles, Calif.

He leaves to mourn their loss his widow, eleven children, sixteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one sister, Mrs. Alice Bates Grandin, of West Field, New York.
