Entered into eternal rest on the morning of March 3, 2008, Carl N. Neth, widower of Marilyn Brown Neth. Residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services in the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul Thursday, March 6, 2008 at nine-thirty o'clock. Interment, Magnolia Cemetery. Friends may call at his daughter's home, 64 Brisbane Drive, Wednesday, between five and seven o'clock. Carl was born November 10, 1924 in Monessen, PA, the son of John Watson Neth, Sr. and Dale Reed Neth. He was a graduate of Florida Southern College and was a long time resident of Lakeland, FL, moving to Charleston permanently in 1996. In Lakeland he was a member of the Dixieland Lions Club and maintained perfect attendance for over 40 years. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Tampa Shrine Club. He was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Charleston and served the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Lakeland as an Elder, Superintendent of Christian Education, and Chairman of the Congregation. He was also a founder of the Civic Club Presidents' Roundtable. Mr. Neth is survived by his daughter, Susan Reed Neth Howell and her husband Scott; his granddaughters, Caroline Cullom Howell, Rebecca Reed Howell, all of Charleston. He is also survived by two sisters, Ruth Neth Gillespie and Susan Neth Fissell. He is predeceased by his brothers, John Watson Neth, Jr., Elliott Reed Neth, Philip Orton Neth, Joseph Edward Neth, and Samuel Neth. His wife of 50 years, Marilyn Brown Neth, predeceased him in 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul, 126 Coming Street, Charleston, SC 29403, or First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1293 Orange Grove Road, Charleston, SC 29407.
