Delcie Williams of Fairland died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at home after a lengthy illness. She was 88.
Mrs. Williams was born Jan. 20, 1920, in rural Fairland to Daniel and Effie (Whipkey) Adams. She moved to Fairland in the early 1940s from California.
She was a retired cook, last worked at the Airport Resort. She also built and owned the Fairland Skating Rink in the late 1940s with her husband.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch in Miami.
She married Lee "Mutt" Williams on May 23, 1936, in Columbus, Kan.
He preceded her in death in 1994.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, J.D., Arthur, Boyd and Virgil Adams; four sisters, Ada Adams, Estie Adams, Bertha Schmidt and Lorene Gaines, and two granddaughters, Tonya Williams and Kathy Marshall.
Survivors include one son and his wife, Bill and Juanita Williams of Norman; two daughters and their husbands, Tallulah and Gene Marshall of Fairland and Reena and Kenny Cox of Wagoner; 12 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ Restoration Branch on Highway 10, east of Miami. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery.
Officiating will be Elder Steve Kropp, Elder Jerry Tipton and Elder Jappie Roberson.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Marshall, Justin Rowley, Erick Fernandez, Evan Fernandez, Craig Hood and Brandon Oakley.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Adcock Funeral Home in Fairland.
Memorials are suggested to the Fairland Fire Department in care of the funeral home.
