Alma was the first-born child of her parents, Bill and Emma Kruger Buhrig. Following her were Pearl B, Caroline Rose "Kelly", Lloyd Henry, and Henry William Buhrig. They were a very close, loving family. Her sweet mother died in 1918 just before Alma turned 17 and her youngest brother was 6. Her heart broken father did not remarry for five years.
December 22, 1924 Alma was united in marriage to William G Weihe in Boone, Iowa.
Alma and Bill adopted a little boy and named him William Paul Henry "Billy" Weihe. He was born in 1929, but sadly Billy died at the tender age of five on March 8, 1934. He was so loved and missed. Then October 27, 1934 just 6 days after Alma's 33rd birthday, her loving husband died. The family believes grieving Alma took Billy's headstone with her when she moved from Nebraska.
January 25, 1941 Alma married Ernst Herman Wist in Fremont, Nebraska. She and Ernst moved to Oregon where most of her siblings were living. They resided in Vale, Oregon until Alma's death in 1966.
