John Wanberg was born in Marquette on December 14, 1920, a son of John and Alma (Goodrowe) Wanberg.
He was employed at Lake Shore Inc as a machinist prior to his retirement.
John was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army.
He was a member of St. Peter Cathedral, Richard Jopling Post #44 of the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors included his wife, the former Mary Carlton, whom he married May 31, 1945; two brothers, Richard (Alice) Wanberg of Green Bay, WI, and William Wanberg of Marquette; a brother-in-law, E. Paul Carlton of Marquette; and two nieces, Susan (Craig) Schwemin of Marquette, and Michelle Petrie of Florida, and a nephew, Mark Carlton of Marquette.
John was preceded in death by his parents; and his younger brother, Robert Wanberg.
