Isaac Flint was the sixth of ten children born to Benjamin Flint (1757-1829) and his first wife Mary Swain Flint (1757-1807) . He was born in Westminster, Worcester Co., MA, but moved with his family to Swanzey, Cheshire Co., NH. He later migrated westward to Upstate New York where he met and married Abigail Harriet _________, born in 1797 in New York State. Isaac and Abigail settled on a farm in Otsego, Otsego Co., NY where they had five children: Delia, (b. ca. 1825), Edward (b. ca. 1831), Oliva (b. ca. 1833), Harriet (b. ca. 1834), and Almira (b. ca. 1836). In the fall of 1850 the family moved to a farm in Elyria, Lorain Co., OH. (NOTE: Isaac and his family are enumerated twice in the 1850 Federal Census: once on Otsego, and again two months later in Elyria.) Abigail Flint died in 1865 and soon after Isaac moved to Delaware Co., IA where he died.
