Dr. Russell S. "Doc" Broadwater, 74, of 924 E. McKinley St., died at 11:52 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 1995, in Chambersburg Hospital.

Born July 2, 1921, in Frostburg, Md., he was a son of the late Dr. G. V. and Olive Broadwater.

He was a chiropractor in Chambersburg for 45 years.

A graduate of Hagerstown (Md.) High School, he was a 1949 graduate of Palmer Chiropractic College of Davenport, Iowa. He completed postgraduate work at Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Air Force.

A member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, he was a member and past president of its Hoover Men's Bible Class.

He was a member of George Washington Lodge 143 F & AM, Chambersburg; Harrisburg Consistory and Zembo Temple, both of Harrisburg; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Shippensburg; Shippensburg Scottish Rite; and BPOELKS 600, Burt J. Asper Post 46 American Legion, Hume McNeal Byers Post 224 AMVETS, Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Falling Spring Chapter 2840 of American Association of Retired Persons, all of Chambersburg. He was a life member of Chambersburg Club.

Surviving are his wife, June Horst Broadwater, whom he married Nov. 13, 1943; two sons, Dr. J. Rodney of Fayetteville and Steven R. of Chambersburg; three grandchildren; four step grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, William N. of Peaks Island, Maine.

Burial will be Thursday in the Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.
