Joseph Isaiah Hulstine was born in 1877, son of Samuel & Dorinda (Rogers) Hulstine. Joseph's father Samuel & brother Clairborne were both killed in December 1878 in Boone, Douglas, Missouri when a wagon he was riding in overturned on them. Joseph is listed as Isaiah, age 1, on the 1880 census, living with his Rogers grandparents in Prairie, Newton, Arkansas. I have not found him on the 1880 census, but he married Etta Ledbetter on June 11, 1905 in Madison Co., Arkansas, and they had 5 children. Records indicate that "Joe Hulstine" also married Mary J. Ganstine on February 18, 1941 in Webb City, Jasper, Missouri and Bessie Dunn Cummings on September 12, 1954 in Webb City, Jasper, Missouri. Joseph I. Hulstine died in 1963 in Webb City, Jasper, Missouri.
