Died at the home of his 1/2 first cousin, once removed, "General" Cornelius Robinson. Francis had fled his plantation in Mississippi to seek refuge from the approaching Union Army. He caught a "fever" and never recovered.

Francis apparently married three times:

Mary D., died 1831 in Richmond County, North Carolina
Hannah March, died 1838
Martha Jane Malone.
