America J. Fox, 88, of Gamaliel, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2009, at the Monroe County Medical Center in Tompkinsville. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Texas on Nov. 1, 1920, to the late Elmore Holland & Leona Mae Allen Holland. She was a member of the Corinth Church of Christ, a retired homemaker & factory worker at Red Cap Industries, and the widow of Norman D. Fox.

She is survived by seven sons & six daughters-in-law: Dewayne & Joyce Fox of Red Boiling Springs., TN, Rodney Fox of Tompkinsville, KY, Terry (Ruth) Fox, Doyle (Sheila) Fox all of Tompkinsville, Danny (Earline) Fox of Glasgow, Tony (Geraldine) Fox and Neal(Laura) Fox of Gamaliel, five daughters & three sons-in-law: Myra Long of Lebanon, TN, Linda (J. E.) Dicken of Hestand, KY, Nelda (Cecil) Ritchie of Berry, KY, Laura (Jeff) Ford of Monticello, KY, Kitty Smith of Tompkinsville, three sisters: Wanda Wood of Mt. Vernon, IN, Helen Stroud of Springfield, MS, Patricia Lee of CA, two brothers: Charles Holland of Arizona, Billy Ray Holland of Mesa, Arizona, 27 Grandchildren, 44 Great-grandchildren, 2 Great-great- grandchildren

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jo Fox, a granddaughter, Jaci Lynn Fox, a brother, Cliff Holland, and two sister, Jeanette Alford and Mallie Woods, and a son-in-law, Willie Long.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with burial in the Gamaliel Cemetery.
