Mildred Lucille Avens of Sweetwater went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 20, 2013. She was born in Union County to Minnie and Frank Glandon on September 12, 1924 and as many families of that day moved to Monroe County in 1934. She is a member North Sweetwater Baptist Church. Mildred Lucille married Remos Avens on December 25, 1945. They had two children, Dr. Larry Avens and Sandra Avens

Larry Avens and wife Charlotte of Oak Ridge, TN have 2 daughters, Callie Faye Avens of Dallas Texas, Lori and husband David Hensley of Fountain City, TN. Sandra and husband Rev. Don Rockholt of Sweetwater, have two sons, Samuel and wife Crystal Rockholt of Knoxville, TN., Daniel Rockholt of Sweetwater. Daniel has two children, Makayla and Lucas of Sweetwater. Ms. Lucy has many nieces and nephews. She will surely be missed by her family.
