John T. Christner Dies At Iowa City
John T. Christner, 48, died at the University hospital, Iowa City, Sunday night after an illness of several months.
The son of Benjamin and Della May (Messer) Christner he was born in Henry county. He had been a resident of Mt. Pleasant the last four years.
On May 20, 1927, he and Agnes Pickard were married. She and their ten children survive. The children are: Mrs, Virginia Richenberger, Wayland, Basil and Homer, Mt. Pleasant, Howard, Ft, Hood, Texas, Richard, Downey, Calif., Mrs. Doris Peppel, Mt. Pleasant, Darlene, Patty, Bonnie and Loretta at home. Also surviving are his mother, Mrs. Della Christner of Washington, four brothers,three sisters and seven grandchildren. His father and a sister predeceased him.
Services will be held at the Crane Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock with the Rev. C. R. DeJaynes of the Open Bible church officiating. burial will be at Green Mound.
