Wilbur Neil "Pally" Pallesen, 67, of Sheridan, WY, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005 in Sheridan Manor.

Mr. Pallesen was born December 12, 1937 in Hanna, WY to Wilbur and Anne (Annala) Pallesen. He grew up on a ranch 32 miles north of Hanna and attended school in the Leo community. Mr. Pallesen graduated from Hanna High School in 1956.

After graduation, Mr. Pallesen worked on a dude ranch in Montana in the summer, and in Arizona in the winter. He then worked on the Chase Angus Ranch in Sheridan County until moving to Hanna to work in the coal mine.

Mr. Pallesen was in the Army from 1961 to 1963, and married Pauline Botner in 1964. The couple was divorced in 1978. Mr. Pallesen returned to ranch work for a short time, and then went to work in the construction industry. He was a member of the Elk's Lodge for several years, and was always ready to go team roping.

Mr. Pallesen was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters.

He is survived by two daughters, Leah Dickerson, of Macon, Missouri, and Lynn Pirreca, of Tampa, FL; one sister, Karen Hiatt, of Sinclair, WY; and 4 grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial graveside service for Mr. Pallesen will be held in the Hanna Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
