Oleda Ruth Born Akers 73 of Ironton died Friday July 3, 1998 at an Ashland, KY Hospital. Born October 16, 1924 in Mingo County, WV A daughter of the late Joseph John & Cora Belle Meade Born.

She was a homemaker & of the Baptist faith. She attended Logan County (W. Va.) & Hanging Rock schools.

Surviving are 4 daughters Mrs. Chillis (Phyllis) Terry & Mrs. Noah (Regina) Waddell both of Franklin Furnace, Mrs. Joey (Teresa) Palmer of Ironton & Bonita Dawson of Lexington, Ky; 3 sons David Akers of Ironton, Bill Akers of Wimauma, Fla., Scott Akers of Riverview Fla., 1 brother Robert Alfred Born of Newport News Va., 1 sister Lovetta Coombs of Bronson Fla. 18 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by 1 brother Eugene "Gene" Born & 1 granddaughter.

Services were entrusted to Phillips Funeral Home of Ironton, Ohio.
