Miss Joanne Christine Mayer 43, died Monday at Osage Hospital of burns suffered Sunday when her pajamas caught fire while tending the furnace in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mayer of Riceville.
Services are being held this Thursday at 9:30 am. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Riceville, with burial in Calvary cemetery Chisholm Funeral in charge.
Survivors, besides her parents, are four sisters, Mrs. Richard Niedert of Waterloo; Mrs Seth Hummel and Mrs. Robert Shane of Riceville; and Mrs. John Condon of New Haven; and six brothers; Charles, Leonard, William and Donald, all of Riceville; and Marvin and John of Waterloo.
