Harvey Davis Fletcher was born August 20, 1869, in Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas to William Andrew Fletcher and Julian Ann Long. Harvey stood 5ft. 5 1/2in. tall, had brown eyes, dark hair and a dark complexion. He was married to Florence Bertha Vaughn on February 8, 1893, in Beaumont. They had three children; Vallie May; William Andrew; Nicholas Vaughn, "Nick". Harvey was a newspaper man in the Service Department of the BEAUMONT ENTERPRIZE, Beaumont. In 1900 he was treasurer of a lumber company in Beaumont. In 1910 he was a coal merchant. He enlisted in the Texas Rangers as a SPECIAL RANGER on August 14, 1919 thru December 31, 1919. He was commissioned at the request of Governor Hobby. Harvey Davis Fletcher died January 3, 1920, in Beaumont and was buried in the Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, Jefferson County, Texas.
