Eve Ellen was one of several Carle siblings who moved from Belmont County, Ohio, to eastern Kansas. She settled with her husband, Dave, in La Harpe, where Dave farmed and ran a threshing service. They moved to a farm near Carlyle not long before her death. She was sickly for much of her later years.
