Obituary - Paintsville Herald, Wednesday, February 26, 1975

Mitchell E. Daniels, 67, of Thealka, a former member of the Johnson County school board died Sunday, February 23, after a brief illness. The son of the late Julius and Bessie VanHoose Daniels, he was born July 16, 1907. Mr. Daniels was a retired employee of the industrial engineering department of Armco Steel Co. in Ashland and a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a member of Paintsville Masonic Lodge No. 381, F & AM and a 40 year Mason. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Burton Daniels; 5 sons, Robert E. and James F. Daniels both of Paintsville, Paul V. Daniels of Thealka, John B. Daniels of Dayton and Thomas M. Daniels of Paintsville; 3 daughters, Mrs. Joe R. Conley and Mrs. Larry Sturgill both of Paintsville and Mrs. Paul B. Music of Dayton; 10 grandchildren; 4 sisters, Mrs. Herschell VanHoose of Nippa, Mrs. Charles Spradlin and Mrs. Jay Rickman, both of Thealka and Mrs. Foley North of Morehead. Funeral services for Mr. Daniels were held at 2 p.m. today, February 26, in the Chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home with Reverend Bennie Blankenship officiating. Burial was in Mayo Memorial Cemetery in Paintsville with graveside rites conducted by the Paintsville Masonic Lodge. Masons served as pallbearers. Arrangements were under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
