Rebecca Lea Palmer was born Nov. 7, 1953, in Warrensburg, the daughter of Jennings H. and Fay Robertson Palmer.
She attended Warrensburg schools and graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.
Rebecca was united in marriage to James Cunningham on Jan. 21, 1972, in Warrensburg.
She worked at Harmon Electronics in Warrensburg for several years. More recently, she was employed with the Social Security Administration at the Federal Building in Kansas City. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader.
Survivors include her husband, James, of the home; sister, Myra White and her husband, Graydon, of Sunrise Beach; brother, Gary Wheeler and his wife, Sharon, of Blue Springs; father-in-law, Wayne Jaeger of Zapata, Texas; two brother-in-laws, Ron Jaeger and family of Warrensburg and John Jaeger of Zapata, Texas; two uncles, John Palmer of Clinton and "Buster" Palmer of Wichita, Kan.; and nieces, Annesia Griffin and family of Atoka, Okla., and Toni Webb and family of McAlester, Okla.
Rebecca was preceded in death by both parents and a son, Michael Wayne Cunningham, in January 1988.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg, with Pastor Harry Stevens of Victory Tabernacle Pentecostal Church officiating.
Private interment will be in the Knob Noster Cemetery at a later date
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
