Married Elias C. Chase 4/7/1897.

Mrs. Helen F. Knowles, widow of Arthur Knowles, died at the Tober hospital Saturday, after a long illness. She was born in East Wareham October 1, 1874 the daughter of Francis T. and Betsey (Haskins) Bumpus. Her first husband was Elias Chase of Harwich, who died many years ago. In November, 1939, she married Mr. Knowles, who passed away last month.

She is survivied by a niece and nephew, Mrs. Preston Alley and Hiram Gifford of Marion; two grand-nephews, Stanford Binden of Point Independence and Norman Binden of New Bedford; and two grand-nieces, Mrs. Helen Cornell of New Bedford and Miss Marjory Binden of Chicago, Ill.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Cornwell memorial chapel, Rev. Otis Lee Monson, officiating. Interment was in Agawam cemetery.
